It sounds like Jon Jones is indeed back in the game.
Just recently, mixed martial arts champ Daniel Cormier, who is currently holding a record of 17-1 MMA and 6-1 UFC, threw some shots at former title holder Jones via Twitter. Jones, who has a record of 21-1 MMA and 15-1 UFC, didn’t back down though. In fact, he made it clear that he wasn’t going to let these statements slide.
Jones, who was stripped off his title when he got involved in a hit-and-run accident, admitted that he wanted the title so bad he’s willing to fight current titleholder, Daniel Cormier, so bad that he’s do it even in Oklahoma State University wrestling room, the champ’s home turf.
The two amazing mixed martial arts fighters, who took turns in throwing shots at each other, ended up agreeing to finally meet in New Mexico. Jones revealed that this is where he will be because of the grand opening in Jackson’s MMA.
Jon Jones, who won over Daniel Cormier by unanimous decision last UFC 182, posted again on Twitter asking what’s the update on their fight.
“Too p-ssy to fight at the garden but flies all the way to Albuquerque to prove he’s a man #Scratchingmyhead you on your way p-ssy?” he said.
Cormier didn’t answer back right away, but it looks like he was able to counter the shot pretty well. Here’s what he had to say:
“I’m gonna be there but I need u to make it to the octagon, we don’t wanna violate parole now do we :),” Cormier said.
These two MMA top fighters are expected to go head to head soon. Jon Jones is looking forward to getting back the belt that is rightfully his. Cormier, on the other hand, is proving to everyone that he deserves the title he won twice- first when won against Anthony Johnson last UFC 187, and second, when he won by split-decision against Alexander Gustafsson last UFC 192.
As of this date, there’s no final schedule of the said rematch between Jon Jones, who sits at the top spot in the NOS Energy Drink MMA light heavyweight rankings, and Daniel Cormier, who is at the second spot.
