The fourth season of the “Orange is the New Black”, American comedy-drama series, is coming up. Fans of the show are talking about what will the upcoming season be about, but most of them are actually more concerned about one of the show’s stars will give The Ultimate Fighting Championship a try – Ruby Rose.
The fans are actually not aware that Ruby Rose is indeed a fan of the sport and a mixed martial arts devotee herself. In the early days, she also had leaned towards boxing and has a godfather who was a world boxing champion.
The main reason that Ruby Rose went from boxing and a fan of the UFC is because of the first UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey.
Ruby Rose told UFC.com, “I was always into boxing. My godfather was a world champ and then I competed in boxing and that was kind of always my be all and end all, but I think Ronda (Rousey) has literally been the single reason why I’ve converted to the UFC.”
Being a fan of Rousey, she was one of those celebrities who posted tweets to support Rousey for champ’s battle against mixed martial arts contender Bethe Correia at UFC 190.
Having crazy about boxing and now, so much into the UFC, Ruby Rose appeared at a UFC event in Las Vegas. She was actually there to DJ for an event over the weekend. Ruby Rose also discussed how she felt about Ronda Rousey’s next fight. The “Orange is the New Black” star admitted that she is not happy since the fight will happen on November 14, in Melbourne, as she won’t have the chance to be there to witness the champ’s battle.
While laughing, Ruby Rose has this to say:
“I’m so mad. I live in Melbourne for the greater part of 25 years of my life and then I finally move to L.A., which is so close to Vegas, and you guys have some of the best fights ever, they’re in Vegas and then she decides to go and have this huge fight in Melbourne. She’s doing it to spite me, clearly.”
