Ronda Rousey on her career after UFC 193 loss: “I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch.”

It looks like former women’s MMA bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, isn’t going to hang her gloves just yet.

Ronda RouseyA lot of people were quick to jump in and join the fans who bashed and said harsh words about Rousey’s defeat, saying that she deserved the loss, someone finally has exposed her weaknesses or if she can just walk away and leave the industry for good, it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Rousey has finally agreed to come out and speak about the biggest upset in the MMA industry. In a recent interview with ESPN The Magazine, Ronda revealed that she has been “really f*cking sad” about the loss, but the sadness isn’t enough to make her retire yet. She wants to take another shot at getting her belt back from Holm before making any decisions about her career.

Holm managed to throw a powerful punch during the first 30 seconds of the fight, which knocked Rousey’s teeth loose. Even her lips split open because of the blow. After that powerful punch, Rousey admitted that she was already on the losing side of the fight, just barely hanging in there until Holm threw a massive head-kick which ultimately ended the 2-round fight.

“I got hit in that first round. I cut my lip open and knocked a couple of my teeth loose. I was out on my feet from the very beginning. It was like a dumbed-down dreamy version of yourself making decisions. I was just trying to shake myself out of it. I kept saying to myself, ‘You’re okay, keep fighting. You’re okay, keep fighting. I just feel so embarrassed. How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself,” Rousey revealed during the interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

Some people might just give up and walk away when faced with situations like these… but not Rousey.

Rousey has managed to become a one-of-a-kind legend in the MMA industry. Even though she has finally been dethroned, the achievements that Rousey was able to reach will not be topped by any MMA fighter- at least for now. But as tough as she may seem, Rousey is just like any fighter when facing a loss- she grieves.

The former bantamweight champion further revealed that she will be needing a couple of months to recover from her injuries. It will take a couple of months before she can bite into an apple. In the meantime, Rousey said that she will be attending to her obligations outside the octagon. As for a rematch with Holly, Rousey confirms that it will definitely happen. And it’s not just a rematch fight. Rousey said that this fight will determine the direction of her career.

“I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch. Everything is going to be determined by that. Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything,” Rousey said.
